How fortunate I feel to have been asked to shoot the cover story for the current issue of SLPCBG Magazine. Amor in Bloom was such a please to be part of, especially with a team of such talented people making it so gorgeous and being just so much fun to work with. For a full list of contributors pick up your copy of the mag on newsstands now or swing by the SLPCBG blog for this and much much more.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the shoot…..some made their way into the editorial and some will just live on my journal. Love them all!
I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by friends and creatives that will jump into silly projects with me. A quick text with a rough sketch to Sarah Winward and we had this fun concept in the books. These image were made by hanging flowers by nylon string in the foreground of the frame and pushing our lovely model far into the background in slightly different light. These are not composite images. Finding this difference in focus and subtlety in light helped us to create a feeling of a flat paper doll with a three dimensional flower as a dress.
So, so fun. Just the perfect project to match the spring lightness I’m feeling in the air! Thanks to the inspirational, real and amazing Sarah and also to the talented and adorable Gabby Gabbitas for making our model, Taylor Harmon, look the part so beautifully. Since these photos didn’t highlight her amazing styling we took some portraits of her wrapped in organic beauty, actually in focus, which I’ll be sharing later.
